The man pictured above was caught on surveillance footage taking a handgun from its unsecured case in a camper on the 400 block of Wilson Avenue around 12:15 p.m. on June 6, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said.

The man then ran from the camper and onto the nearby railroad tracks, O’Hara said.

Anyone with information about the man’s identity is asked to contact the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
